Navistar's CAE team has an exciting opportunity for a

Technical Specialist - Multibody Simulation . Navistar Structural and MBD team within Navistar Product Validation is accountable for all structural strength, durability, NVH and vehicle dynamic simulations across all our commercial vehicles.

The Technical Specialist - Multibody Simulation will provide technical expertise in the Multibody Simulation area supporting vehicle ride, handling and durability loads prediction using ADAMS/another equivalent Multibody simulation tool. The Technical Specialist will also guide and mentor less experienced team members and help develop methods and processes with little to no supervision.Responsibilities:Having broad expertise and unique knowledge in the area of Multibody Dynamics, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.Acknowledged expert within the organization as well as within other organizations, both within and beyond own function.Involves mastery of their own discipline and thorough understanding of a number of disciplines such as Vehicle dynamics testing, structural durability etc.Solves significant, unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. May also require development of new solutions for complex projects.Contributes to the development of functional strategy. Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product or service improvements.Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups.Operates with no supervision in a complex environment. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. May supervise the activities of others and lead project teams to achieve milestones and objectives.Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer ScienceAt least 12 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experienceAt least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologiesORMasters degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer ScienceAt least 8 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experienceAt least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologiesORPhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer ScienceAt least 5 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies or specialized technologies and/or computer science experienceAt least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologiesAdditional Requirements:

Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Expertise in Multibody Dynamics Software, preferably Adams (SIMPACK, MeVEA, OpenSim, Open Dynamics Engineer, MBDyn, FreeDyn)Expertise in non-linear system behaviors (e.g. shocks, air-springs, rubber mounts, suspension components etc.)Expertise in full vehicle Multibody models with flex-body experience preferredExpertise in truck and/or automotive design and development processExperience in full vehicle FEA simulation tools and techniquesExperience in Vehicle dynamics and durability testing methodsFamiliarity with commercial vehicles (trucks and buses)Experience in problem solving tools such as 8D, Six-sigma, LeanProven track record of project managementExcellent Oral and Written communication skillsExperience with working on timing plans and budget planningExperience with formal presentationsLeadership coaching, developing othersMS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project
