We are not seeking 3rd party recruitment services at this time.*We are looking for a seasoned and dynamic Employee Relations Partner with a strong focus on Employee Relations and Engagement to join our team at our Ellettsville, IN headquarters. In this on-site role, youll be a vital member of our HR team, creating a positive work environment, driving employee engagement, and supporting performance management initiatives.
Employee Relations (40%)In this role, youll be the first point of contact for managing and resolving employee relations issues, from disciplinary actions to grievances and working conditions. Your ability to prepare thorough investigative reports and recommend fair and effective disciplinary actions will be key in maintaining a respectful and productive workplace.
Employee Engagement (25%)On the employee engagement front, youll work alongside Smithvilles leaders to enhance the overall employee experience. This means implementing strategies to improve morale and boost engagement. Youll be instrumental in creating and maintaining a two-way communication strategy, ensuring that our employees feel heard and valued.
Performance Management (25%)When it comes to performance management, youll ensure that our goals are strategically aligned with the businesss priorities. Youll coach and support leaders in providing constructive feedback and ensure that performance evaluations are completed on time and documented properly.
Labor Relations (10%)Additionally, youll collaborate with legal counsel and company leadership in labor relations, especially during negotiations with employee and labor groups, ensuring compliance with negotiated agreements.If youre passionate about making work a great place to be, have a talent for resolving complex issues, and enjoy working closely with leadership to drive performance, wed love to have you on board. Your Qualifications
3-5 years of hands-on experience in an HR generalist or business partner role, with 2-3 years of experience with employee relationsA bachelors degree in business administration, organizational behavior, human resources, or labor relations (preferred)Preferred HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) or the willingness to obtain it within 12 monthsStrong ability to handle sensitive information while upholding airtight confidentialityA knack for balancing employee needs with business prioritiesThe ability to transform research into actionable recommendationsMeticulous attention to detail, process-driven thinking, and a customer-centric mindsetStellar written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in employment law and an understanding of its nuancesA natural team player with top-tier interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across departmentsAdeptness with HRIS systems (bonus points for ADP expertise) and Microsoft Office SuiteA proactive self-starter who thrives on initiative and resourcefulnessProven capacity to balance multiple projects and tasks seamlesslyProblem-solver with experience making sound decisions in dynamic environmentsA champion of diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment where everyone can thriveValid drivers license and a safe driving recordFor more than 100 years, Smithville has been and is a locally grown, family-owned, cutting-edge, live-where-we-work, stand-by-our-products, part-of-the-neighborhood, wildly-Hoosier technology company in the heart of Southern Indiana.
