WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Vice President of Philanthropy is an exempt position responsible for deepening Gulf Coast JFCS’ philanthropic reach throughout Tampa Bay and beyond. Reporting to the Chief Communications and Development Officer and working closely with the organization’s Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Philanthropy leads the further evolution of Gulf Coast JFCS’ growing philanthropic program.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

Supervise Annual Campaign Manager.

In coordination with the Development Operations Manager, monitor all planning benchmarks, timeline, and budget for annual campaign activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist Chief Development and Communications Officer in formulating a strategic plan to grow philanthropic revenue.

Create and lead implementation of all aspects of a comprehensive fundraising plan to reach and/or exceed donor growth, donor retention and overall fundraising goals.

Create and lead implementation of a donor cultivation and engagement plan to grow lifetime value of acquired donors.

Lead, engage, and further optimize the Board’s Development and Outreach Committee.

Collaborate with grants team, agency program leaders and other stakeholders to optimize the case for support for funding various impact opportunities throughout the organization.

Lead creation and implementation of business/corporation engagement strategy.

Monitor progress toward goals and benchmarks and adapt as needed to maximize outcomes.

Lead implementation of annual Gala to reach/or exceed annual net income goals.

In collaboration with Chief Communications and Development Officer, grow the organizations Major and Planned gift program.

Strategically leverage the CEO’s involvement with top current and prospective individual, corporate and foundation donors as well as philanthropic influencers.

Complete monthly dashboard showing progress toward financial and other targets.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

The Vice President of Philanthropy must have a bachelor’s degree in the related field and or industry and seven (7) plus years of fundraising experience and five (5) years of experience demonstrating leadership ability, team management and people skills.

Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification, plus minimum education and years of fundraising experience, required.

Demonstrated experience planning and executing successful fundraising campaigns and events.

Experience writing campaign letters, appeals, case for support, stewardship reports.

Demonstrated success with face-to-face fundraising, including major donor fundraising.

Proven record of effective team support, staff coaching and partnering with volunteers and leading volunteer committees.

Direct experience working effectively with boards, program and department leaders and external partners in philanthropic initiatives.

Prior responsibility for budgets and budget monitoring.

Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

Motivated, strategic thinker and persuasive communicator.

Organized, detail-oriented, and proficient at multi-tasking and time management.

Familiarity with working in donor CRM database such as Raisers Edge.

Excellent computer skills working in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
