The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a

Director of Events

to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences.

The

Director of Events

will be responsible for coordinating details of large & small events, supervising and working with all catering and convention services staff, to solicit and book banquet and catering functions that ensure customer satisfaction and maximize hotel revenue and profitability.

Responsibilities:

Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals. This will consist of telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.

Maintain current information on and monitor booking trends to produce forecast figures and month-end reports.

Meet and greet in-house guests upon arrival, review the course of events and introduce other staff members (banquet manager, captain, etc.).

Maintain pricing integrity as develop and propose upscale menus for all groups. Ensure BEO’s are issued and complete all pertinent correspondence with outside vendors to finalize programs.

Recruit, direct, manage, train and counsel catering sales staff. Oversee divisional matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws.

Ensure operational compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, local liquor laws and sanitation regulations.

Report the progress of the caterings to General Manager as needed and will be responsible for coordinating with additional departments and will investigate and resolve issues regarding food quality or service.

Interact with outside planners and vendors for special events.

Qualifications:

Experience with menu planning designed to meet profit & budget goals. Hotels, Luxury or Forbes Experience preferred.

Ability to build a steady client base and interact with the community.

Outside sales experience required.

Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
