Director of Human Resources
to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Human Resources will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of Olsson’s mission and talent strategies.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, and initiatives to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
Administer human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; and training and development.
Work with department leaders to identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
Manage the Affirmative Action Plan and ensure the company remains in compliance.
Act as a Trustee/manager of the 401(k) plan - Attend quarterly meetings, work closely with the third-party administrators to oversee distributions, loans, compliance, testing, and audits.
Monitor plan design and offerings.
Manage implementation and administration of a new HRIS.
Facilitate professional development and training.
Manage and respond to compliance audit requests.
Perform other functions as required/requested.
Skills and Educational Requirements:
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Firm grasp on Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements and compliance.
Ability to work well with a variety of personalities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required.
At least ten years of human resource management experience preferred.
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
Experience working in a busy construction office also a plus.
Characteristics Requirements:
Willingness to travel, approximately weekly, to other office location in Richland, Washington.
Must work well in a team environment and independently.
High degree of emotional intelligence.
Must demonstrate personal initiative, motivation, and problem-solving skills.
Able to excel with minimum supervision.

Salary and Benefits:
Base salary of $125,000+, DOE.
