What Will You Do?

The Director of Ecommerce Fulfillment is responsible for leading all aspects of the Ecommerce fulfillment program, from order receipt to delivery to customer. This position will also play a key role in developing and implementing strategies and lead a team to grow and continuously improve our fulfillment processes, reduce costs, and exceed customer expectations. This position will initially own and guide all Ecommerce processes, but quickly build a team to support the future growth of the Ecommerce division.

Primary ResponsibilitiesManage various aspects of the Ecommerce program, from order receipt to delivery.Own Ecommerce performance metrics for the distribution centers in the areas of service, quality, and cost; help improve and build better and more meaningful KPIs to measure performance.Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse processes and drive efficiency improvements within Ecommerce.Play a key role in new business development for Ecommerce – participate in cross-functional initiatives spanning product development, pricing, marketing, and sales.Lead efforts to define, recommend, cost justify and acquire automation solutions for throughput and efficiency increases.Develop and implement fulfillment strategies that improve speed and service to the customer.Plan labor and transportation volume as peak seasonality changes due to business promotions.Oversee auditing of ecommerce carrier spend and be a key POC for parcel carriers’ communication.Oversee auditing invoice compliance across all The Ashley Companies ecommerce accounts.Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and technologies in ecommerce fulfillment and lead strategies to implement.Develop and maintain strong relationships with carrier and logistic providers, including leading negotiations.Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.Develop and manage the ecommerce fulfillment budget.Ability to travel frequently in the first 3 months and moderate travel afterwards, 30-55%.

Job Qualifications8+ years of experience in business processes/program management/fulfillment operations, preferred.Bachelor’s degree in business related field or equivalent work experience, required (examples include Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, etc.).MBA or related master’s degree in business related field, preferred.Experience with Ecommerce program or operations management strongly preferred.Experience with implementing warehouse automation preferred.Excellent data and business analysis skills – providing data driven results.Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing operational improvements.Exceptional problem-solving skills.Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control.Work independently as well as in a team environment.Work professionally with customers and co-workers to efficiently serve our customers, treating both with enthusiasm and respect.Display empathy, understanding and patience with employees and external customers.Respond professionally in situations with difficult employee/vendor/customer issues or inquiries.
