A law firm in San Diego, CA is seeking a Junior Tax Associate Attorney with 0-3 years of experience in transactional tax matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in tax transactions, including real estate, fund formation, and REITs. The role involves working on complex tax-related issues, drafting legal documents, and providing legal advice. Candidates with a demonstrated interest in tax law, relevant coursework, and a high level of academic achievement are encouraged to apply. Pursuing or having an LL.M. in Taxation is a strong plus. Admission to the State Bar of California is required.Key Responsibilities:Assist with transactional tax matters, including real estate transactions, fund formation, and REITs.Draft legal documents and memoranda related to tax transactions.Conduct legal research and provide written analysis on tax-related issues.Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop tax-efficient structures and solutions.Review and analyze tax implications of various transactions and investments.Participate in client meetings and discussions, providing legal advice and recommendations.Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.Stay current with developments in tax law and industry trends.Requirements:0-3 years of experience in tax transactional matters.Strong interest and coursework in partnership tax, investment funds, REITs, and/or real estate.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting legal memoranda and providing written advice.Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively in a team environment, while also handling significant individual responsibilities.High level of academic achievement from a reputable law school.Currently pursuing or completed LL.M. in Taxation is strongly encouraged.Admission to the State Bar of California is required.Education & Certifications:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Admission to the State Bar of California.LL.M. in Taxation (pursuing or completed) is highly desirable.Skills:Expertise in tax transactional matters, including real estate, fund formation, and REITs.Strong legal drafting and analytical skills, with the ability to create clear and comprehensive legal documents.Proficiency in legal research and the ability to analyze complex tax issues.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
