Job DescriptionIN-HOUSE CONSTRUCTION LAWYER

Are you a qualified solicitor with 3-5 years PQE looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience in non-contentious and contentious construction matters? If so, this company is looking for an In-house Construction Lawyer to take the lead supporting their construction arm.This company is a leading provider of specialist engineering, asset management, and inspection services to regulated industries, local authorities, and customers with critical infrastructure. They offer a broad range of services, including lightning protection systems, electrical earthing solutions, height safety solutions, and utility network design and installation.As the In-house Construction Lawyer, you will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts for projects ranging from large frameworks for the water company to support its capital investment from £500k to £60m+. You will also be responsible for drafting board papers for projects at pre-tender, tender, and post-tender stages, reviewing and drafting collateral warranties, NDAs, parent company guarantees, retention, performance bonds, and framework agreements.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED:

Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contractsDrafting board papers for projects at pre-tender, tender, and post-tender stagesReviewing and drafting collateral warranties, NDAs, parent company guarantees, retention, performance bonds, and framework agreementsDrafting and implementing policies and procedures to support bid teams, quantity surveyors, and commercial managersManaging multiple complex legal matters simultaneouslySKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

Qualified solicitor with 3-6 years PQEExperience in non-contentious and contentious construction mattersFamiliar with standard form construction contracts: JCT, NEC, and FIDIC but can also work with bespoke client agreementsLitigation experience an advantageActs with integrity and discretionProactive and pragmaticHands-on: gets involved with issues, support and challenge colleagues constructivelyAble to communicate and work with people collaboratively at all levelsBENEFITS:
