Job Description: Director of Supply Chain
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Supply Chain to oversee the supply chain operations for our hospitality group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, logistics, procurement, and vendor management within the food and beverage industry. They will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize our supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, ensure quality standards, and support the growth and expansion of our restaurant portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with business goals and growth plans.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and operational efficiencies within the supply chain.
Vendor Management:
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and distributors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to achieve favorable agreements and improve overall supply chain performance.
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory planning, forecasting, and management to optimize stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
Implement inventory control measures and systems to track inventory movement, turnover, and accuracy across multiple locations.
Logistics and Distribution:
Manage logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to ensure on-time delivery and fulfillment of orders.
Evaluate and optimize transportation routes, modes, and carriers to reduce shipping costs and improve delivery efficiency.
Quality Assurance:
Develop and enforce quality assurance standards and procedures for all incoming materials, products, and supplies.
Collaborate with stakeholders to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and uphold food safety standards.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, including managers, analysts, and coordinators, to drive performance and achieve departmental goals.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the supply chain organization.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the food and beverage industry.
Strong knowledge of supply chain best practices, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful supply chain strategies that drive operational excellence and cost savings.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to analyze data, make data-driven decisions, and leverage technology and analytics tools for supply chain optimization.
Leadership qualities, including strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and team management capabilities.
