TTL, a steadily growing engineering design firm, now with more than 450 employees, is seeking a competent and committed GIS technician to create eye-catching maps and compelling data visualizations. We’re not asking too much – just for you to turn complex environmental, geotechnical, and civil engineering data into easy-to-use, visually appealing maps that guide fieldwork and analysis.

We’ll provide you with the necessary tools to prepare detailed digital maps, analyze features, and verify that everything complies with project standards. You’ll also be tasked with handling data conversion, acquisition, and entry while making sure our GIS data stays organized and accessible for all the exciting projects we tackle. Requirements:

Associate degree in GIS, geography, engineering, natural science or a related field requiring work with data and/or geo-spatial information OR two or more years of experience working with ESRI-related products including ArcDesktop 10.X, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS OnlineBachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, computer science, engineering, natural science or a related field (preferred)Experience creating deliverables for environmental and geological data (well gauging and chemical sampling data, wetlands, streams, and groundwater information)Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingListen to and execute client needsWork independently or as part of a teamPrioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a consistent scheduleExperience working with large datasets, raster/grid data, and data in different coordinate projections (preferred)Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings – boring logs, boundary surveys, site plans, grading plans, utility plans, as-builts and profiles/cross-sections (preferred)Create map books using data driven techniques (preferred)Knowledge of ESRI ArcHydro, or similar (preferred)Using and transitioning data between GIS (i.e., ArcGIS or QGIS), GPS (i.e., Trimble) and drafting (i.e., AutoCAD and MicroStation) software (preferred)Familiarity with GIS-related data collection tools including Survey 123 and/or Collector, spatial analyst toolboxes and 3-D modeling tools, database management and data queries, and coding/scripting (preferred)
