Associate, Multimedia

position is a supporting role that requires a creative, enthusiastic, and organized self-starter to assist the Communications team in telling WCK’s story through multimedia content production, editorial support, media relations, event logistics, and other company communications.This role requires a sincere commitment to WCK’s mission, occasional work during nights, holidays, and weekends, and the flexibility to multitask in a fast-paced and innovative environment while meeting tight deadlines and adapting as needed to the topic and scope of the project at hand.This role is intended to be a full-time hybrid non-exempt position (hourly), based in Washington, DC, with 2-3 days on-site per week. This role requires occasional travel, including international travel with limited notice.This role reports to the Director, Events & External Engagement, will work in close collaboration with the Communications department, and will coordinate and communicate with external audiences as required.Key Responsibilities:Editorial and Promotional Content Creation:Create daily multimedia content such as videos, audio clips, blogs, press releases, graphics, social posts and interactive media for various platforms, including website, newsletters, print, event collateral, and all social media platformsConduct research and provide editorial supportContribute to team brainstorms and conceptualize original contentOrganize and maintain a library of multimedia assets for easy retrieval and reuseCommunity Engagement:Act as the first line of communications with WCK audiences for inbound communication on multiple platformsMaintain Common Response Guide ensuring information and FAQs are regularly updatedMedia Relations:Monitor press inboxAssist with press lists and outreachCreate content for media distributionEvent Production and logistics:Create content for event promotionAssist with set up and logistics of virtual and in-person eventsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience1 + years of relevant experience, including previous editorial, digital/website, or journalism experienceExperience in applicable software and computer applications, including Adobe Creative SuiteKnowledge and experience in web content management systems and Microsoft WordKnowledge of current events and differing cultures with the ability to communicate sensitivelyExcellent verbal and written communication abilitiesAlignment with the mission and values of WCKMust be able to travel occasionally including internationally at short noticeMust have U.S. work authorizationMust have valid passportPreferred Candidates
