This position will be responsible for greeting visitors to the department and assisting students, faculty, instructors, and graduate assistants as well as staff with various requests, such as overrides, curriculum support for the Vice-Chair. This position will be the primary for arranging & facilitating special events - placing food and supply orders, make reservations for space or equipment, set-up and tear-down of Physics events including weekly colloquia, REU events each summer and any other needs for special events. The Administrative Specialist III will perform daily office duties that include answering the multi-line phone, researching and preparing special reports and surveys, distributing mail in a timely manner, using a scanner to create electronic files, uploading files to SharePoint. It will also assist with inventory and surplus of departmental equipment. This position will perform other duties as assigned.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

At least one year of experience in an office setting, working with customers and technology with a focus on customer service

Preferred Qualifications:Event-planning or hospitality experience

Front desk experience with phones and office visitors

Demonstrated experience in and ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented atmosphere with the ability to multitask while working with little supervision
