This includes planning, marketing, and events strategy and execution, social media content calendar, paid media strategy and execution, website content management, social media channel management, and promotional activities. The Marketing and Events Manager will supervise the coordinator of events' operations and collaborate with faculty leaders to promote subject-matter expertise internally and/or externally.

The Marketing and Events Manager will serve as an internal subject matter expert for other influencers in the department, especially for social media platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram, work with third parties to secure advertising space to promote the department, direct/oversee the securing of event venues, parking needs, and catering, dictate and manage setup and associated technology needs for virtual and in-person events, develop event scripts/run of shows, create event-specific document creation (programs, agendas, etc.), explore and ideate new event options and design, oversee the execution of other Supply Chain Managements events such as the Supply Chain Management Research Center, Supply Chain Management undergraduate program and other department initiatives.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a promotional-savvy professional with an eye for compelling visual content and the ability to tell a compelling story that drives engagement, especially within the context of a business school environment and the supply chain management field. As a supply chain marketer, this person is expected to become conversant with the principles and practices of supply chain management. This person will also work closely with the Walton College of Business Marketing for graphic design, video, and related fields to craft compelling visual content that drives engagement by students, alumni, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, supply chain management, or related field

Marketing experience in a professional setting

Events-related experience in a professional setting

Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge of social media platforms and their respective participants (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and others as needed) with proven results of growing a following or action on at least one of these platforms and knowledge of how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios

Willingness to learn and become knowledgeable of the supply chain management field

Experience in interpreting marketing analytics, including but not limited to, social media analytics, Google analytics and other website analytics

Event promotion experience

Experience dictating and managing setup and associated technology needs for virtual and in-person events

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Working knowledge of principles of SEO, including keyword research and Google Analytics

Working knowledge of paid media

Excellent skillset in communications (oral, written, visual), quality control, and planning/organizing

Event documentation and activation skills

Excellence interpersonal communication skills and the ability to generate genuine interactions with a variety of stakeholders, including students, alumni, faculty, and staff
