Summary

The Network Administrator takes responsibility for the maintenance and reliable operations of company servers and networking equipment. Performs technical work developing, implementing, and supporting infrastructure and networking equipment.

Should be customer service oriented with a solid background in implementing, and maintaining networking systems to include configuration and administration network and server environment including Cisco equipment, firewall config and administration, server configurations, routers, switches, wireless networking, VoIP, VPN, etc and security of a local and wide area network in a multi-site environment.

This position will be part of a diverse team with the responsibility to provide all levels of support for the enterprise network across multiple locations and two datacenters in a LAN/WAN environment.

Responsibilities will also include assisting the Servicedesk to meet required service level agreements and participate in on call rotations.

Essential Functions

Administers day-to-day operations of both Cisco networks and hardware (in physical and virtual environments) in a multi-site environment including monitoring performance and resource availability and performing routine maintenance to keep the network running at optimal performanceDesigns and installs new, and plans and deploys patches of existing, network, server, telecommunication, and system software within the company in keeping with company standards and policies in a team environmentMaintains all new and upgraded equipment and software after installationInstall and maintain network and telecommunications cabling (Cat 5/6 and/or Fiber Optics)Oversee and manage work by vendors that perform installation servicesProvides second level troubleshooting to resolve network, server, and other hardware or system software issues and implement solutionsParticipates in evaluation of new technology opportunities which improve performance of overall environment for employee ownersRefines and maintains security of overall server and network environment to minimize intrusion opportunities for external and internal actorsConfigures, maintains, and monitors firewalls, routers, switches, etc., through IOS interface or equivalent toolsAssists with Disaster Recovery Plan risk analysis, business impact and development strategyAdministers Disaster Recovery plans to better ensure availability and recoverability of overall server and network environment consistent with the overall Disaster Recovery and Backup planAll other duties as assigned

Experience :

3+ years relevant job experience with the Essential Functions above

Experience with supporting Virtualization technologies considered a plus.

Experience with Category 5/6 and/or Fiber Optic cabling will also be considered a plus.

Microsoft, Cisco, Palo Alto and VMware certifications or experience will be considered a plus.
