Multimedia Production Specialist

FLSA STATUS:

Exempt

PAY GRADE:

Grade 75 ($4522-$6460/month)

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT : 12 Months

REPORTS TO:

Chief of Communications

JOB GOAL:

To ensure effective and efficient communication to all audiences of the Johnston County Public Schools System through the production and dissemination of quality multimedia content, particularly through the district website and social media platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS:Ideal candidate is an experienced AP Style writer and a strong storyteller who thinks comprehensively and has great attention to detail. Should be able to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, while delivering within a deadline. Writing deliverables include but are not limited to website content, social media, marketing materials, newsletters, and blogs.Associate's degree in communication, journalism, web design, graphic design, video production, or a related field requiredMinimum of 2 years of experience in a communication-related position is preferred.Ability to function independently with minimal oversight.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Website and Social Media Management: Develop plans to ensure that all district webpages and social media platforms are updated regularly, per policy, district standards, and compliance law. Assist in website and social media design for the many pages and social media accounts throughout the district.Content creation: Develop and manage a content calendar to create and publish written and visual content across the district's website and social media platforms. Create/design basic graphics for JCPS website, social media, and packages.Community Engagement: Establish and enhance community relationships within social media communities by monitoring comments, collaborating with the Chief of Communications and Communications Coordinator on proper response, and collectively developing a plan to mitigate problems and miscommunication.Campaign development: Researching strategies, conducting tests, and developing social media campaigns for different audiences.Trend analysis: Monitoring and analyzing trends and collaboratively developing strategies to implement approved trends into the department's communication plans and procedures.Performance measurement: Tracking key performance indicators like likes, link clicks, and conversion rates, and analytics to track user behavior.Internal communication: Work with the district's webmasters and media liaisons to create effective campaigns to disseminate pertinent information and relative stories.Content Distribution: Produce and distribute multimedia content for traditional and modern platforms throughout the district.Training: Train and assist webmasters and media liaisons at the school level by assisting in hosting training sessions, developing tutorials and how-to-guides, and acting as a liaison between media liaisons and web host.Marketing Campaign Management: Work collaboratively with the Chief of Communications and Communications Coordinator to manage social media marketing campaigns.Assist with the broadcasting of news/media packages highlighting Johnston County Public Schools across district-wide social media platforms and websites.Assist with the archival of news articles relating to the school system.Assist in set design and location scouting. Set up and position equipment for production.Assist with photography activities for the school system, quickly edit photos, and make social posts on-site.Operate all equipment, gear and software vital to the video production process including cameras, audio capture devices, lighting, computers, and editing software.Maintain a thorough knowledge of industry standards and evolving technology.Collaborate in the development of scripts, storyboards, and detailed execution plans, including project schedules, technical requirements, and talent coordination.Assist with the planning and implementation of school system special events, including those on weekends, evenings and holidays.Active participant in JCPS Communication Team.Other duties as assigned.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry audio/visual equipment.Ability to lift 50 pounds.Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.Ability to speak before groups of people with poise, voice control and confidence.Ability to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a valid NC driver's license.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, teachers, students, administrators, community leaders, agency representatives and others.
