Job Title:

Venue & Event Communications Manager

Pay Details: The annual base salary range for this position in California is $69,000 to $77,500 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.

The Venue & Event Communications Manager is a key part of promoting live events at Honda Center and new OCVIBE ticketed venues. The selected individual will be responsible for creative publicity campaign materials, including press releases and managing media requests. Reporting to the Director, Media & Communications, this individual must be able to think on their feet and be knowledgeable and up to date about the entertainment landscape and the music industry. Be a creative problem-solver within a dynamic and fast-paced department.

Responsibilities

Serve as the PR contact and manage communications for all ticketed Honda Center events and OCVIBE ticketed venues.

Build and develop local, national, and industry media relationships.

Work closely with promoters, media, tour and artist publicists.

Create and manage media materials, including press releases, media alerts, press conferences, and media opportunities for ticketed events and venue news.

Work with the communications team members to develop storylines that support the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Collaborate with the Director, Media & Communications on a calendar of key media opportunities including award submissions and feature stories.

Work with the marketing team to strategize social media content and implement programs and forward-thinking initiatives for Honda Center and future OCVIBE entertainment venues that maintain the venue’s tone and voice.

In collaboration with Director, Media & Communications, manage copy and content on the Honda Center website.

Develop publicity and promotional plans for promoters/agents considering bringing events to Honda Center.

Manage and update venue crisis communications to stakeholders and oversee strategy.

Lead on-site and remote publicity efforts, including press conferences, media events, interviews, and red carpets for venue openings and milestones.

Work cross-functionally with departments across the organization to create out-of-the-box thinking to drive a steady cadence of earned media coverage.

Implement cross-promotional programs via social networks and in-arena entertainment, appropriately tying upcoming shows with current sponsors and Anaheim Ducks branding.

Manage media databases and historical archives for more efficient outreach and retrieval.

Promote the organization through industry publications, including award nominations.

Manage media coverage tracking, compilation, and analytics.

Conduct research and planning for special projects including, but not limited to event procurement, industry trend analysis, ticket packaging and crisis communication.

Monitor and respond to customer inquiries through Contact Us email accounts and social media.

Develop influencer relationships.

Curate and implement backstage activations and artist gifting.

Manage the Media & Communications Coordinator’s responsibilities, including photo archives and photography needs, advance on-site press for events, arena calendar distribution, schedule, and projects.

Assist Director with processing invoices, billings, and department monthly expense reports.

Collaborate with third-party PR firm.

Assist with community, corporate, business, and other events as needed.

Special projects as assigned.

Skills

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years’ experience communications.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with effective interpersonal relationship skills.

Sound time management and attention to detail while managing simultaneous projects.

Interest/familiarity with the concert/arena industry.

Candidate must be creative, self-motivated, organized and function well in a team environment.

Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends when required.

Experience with Canva, Cision, and TV Eyes a plus.

Able to work under deadlines.

This position is on-site.
