Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.Job Objective:As the IOP Counselor you will be responsible for the development and implementation of the individualized treatment plans for each client, providing case management services as needed. You will maintain a caseload and conduct individual, family, and group counseling as noted in the treatment plan. You will also teach educational classes as needed, ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.What You Will Do:Prepare the treatment plan in accordance with the Biopsychosocial assessment and ASAM criteria. Review goals every thirty days and on an ongoing basis and make changes as needed for the client.Document all client contacts in the electronic medical records system, including progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries, monthly reports, and discharge plans.Present the client's case with the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring initial and updated treatment plans and discharge summaries are signed by the supervisor. Participate in weekly staffing meetings to provide clinical input and observations as appropriate.Staff any changes in clients' treatment goals and obtain signatures.Counsel individual clients in accordance with the goals developed in the treatment plan using various therapeutic approaches.Counsel families regarding addiction issues in accordance with the goals established in the treatment plan.Facilitate group counseling sessions and follow the assigned group format developed for each session.Prepare progress notes for each client and complete group notes within 24 hours of the initial contact, ensuring all individual and family counseling progress notes are turned in at the end of the working day of the scheduled session.Prepare and teach educational classes as assigned.Document clinical observations and behaviors of the client in group notes and provide the primary clinician with a copy.Facilitate client visitation per the Department of Child Services agreement.Complete an action sheet on level of care and assigned primary clinician.Complete monthly Peer Reviews as assigned by the Lead Counselor or designee.Attend staff meetings, departmental meetings, seminars/conferences, service training programs, and monthly in-service meetings as scheduled.Work assigned overtime hours as directed to ensure coverage of facility operations approved by Supervisor or Director.Maintain client confidentiality of all client information according to Federal, State, and The Salvation Army standards, policies, and procedures.Conduct outside assessments for clients as assigned and Withdrawal Management within 48 hours of admission if applicable.Other tasks as assigned by leadership.Minimum Qualifications:Education:

Bachelor's degree required in human services or other related field. Master's degree in human services or other related field preferred.Background Checks:

Position requires a background check to be completed. Findings may disqualify an individual for this position.Experience:

Minimum of 1-2 years direct service in the substance abuse field preferred. If in recovery, must demonstrate at least two years of sobriety with evidence of emotional and social stability.Certifications:

Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment. ICAADA certified preferred or within 12 months of employment. Licensed Addiction Counselor certification preferred or within 12 months of hire. Maintain certification requirements as applicable.Skills/Abilities:Able to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish preferred.Supervisory Responsibility:

Position may be required to attend court hearings or external training opportunities. Transporting clients may also be required.Working Conditions:
