Come and grow your career with our team at a Power Five university in one of the South's true college towns!The Student-Athlete Support Services team is a dynamic and collaborative group, dedicated to supporting student-athletes across 19 athletic teams as they progress toward academic goals and meet compliance requirements. We engage in regular communication with coaches, academic advisors, and parents/guardians, striving to empower student-athletes to become more effective learners and to assist them in developing skills that will enhance their academic progress, social development, and benefit fully from their experiences at Auburn University.The selected candidate will provide counsel to Auburn University football student-athletes in the areas of academics and eligibility. The successful candidate will manage key elements of NCAA academic continuing eligibility benchmarks positioning high profile and at-risk student-athletes for success. Ensure student-athletes and stakeholders are aware of academic standing and requirements to maintain eligibility. Coordinate and monitor individual academic plans that include various services and resources while strategically intervening using data-driven adjustments as necessary.Essential Functions:Tracks, monitors, communicates, and forecasts regarding academic progress towards degree and NCAA continuing eligibility benchmarks/Academic Progress Rate (APR) for members of the football team.Evaluates and analyzes each football student-athlete's current academic standing and record related to eligibility for sport participation and counsels student-athletes on retention of athletic eligibility and graduation.Creates, coordinates, and monitors individualized academic plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student-athlete taking into consideration aptitude, learning style, strengths/weaknesses, and goals.Synthesizes and analyzes data measuring how successful each student-athlete is at meeting academic expectations (grades, class attendance, tutoring, mentoring, study table, etc.). Disseminates accountability data to various stakeholders (i.e., coaches, administrators, etc.). Maintains records.Evaluates and inspects the effectiveness of academic support services, intervening strategically, to ensure the student-athlete is placed in a position to be successful.Participates in Athletic Certification meetings with Associate Registrar for Athletic Compliance in the Office of the Registrar, the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR), and Athletics Compliance to review and discuss academic data used to certify the NCAA academic eligibility of each football student-athlete.Oversees and manages various components of SASS operations including new student orientations (CWE and SOS), Academic Scholarships and Awards, Scholarship Book Program, class checking, technology platforms, social media, Summer Bridge, supervision of part-time graduate students and/or GAs. Provides an overview of the Academic Support Services to recruits visiting campus.Minimum Qualifications:Level I:

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Education, Business, Sports Management, or related field.Level II:

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Education, Business, Sports Management, or related field plus 2 years of experience in advising or counseling.Substitutions allowed for Experience:

Graduate degrees accepted in lieu of experience for advanced levels, at the rate of one year of relevant education per year of required experience. (Example: Master's degree = 2 years of experience)Desired Qualifications:Advanced degree in required discipline or a Juris DoctorateExtensive experience in higher education setting with football and at-risk Division I student athletesStrong knowledge of college student development theory and of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations, specifically pertaining to eligibilityKnowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in advising or counselingMeticulous attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact with people from a variety of backgrounds, culture, and a wide range of agesSalary Range:
