Become a part of our caring community and help us put health firstAre you a transitioning military service member or a Military Spouse looking for an internship that supports the goal to put health first?The DoD SkillBridge or Military Spouse Financial Planning & Analysis Lead Intern will utilize Humana's Medicaid training and mentorships and engage formerly acquired skillsets from military experience and education to perform within the finance Medicaid segment.Key Responsibilities:Analyze and forecast financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions.Shadow within the department and among collaborative teams.Collect, compile, verify, and analyze financial information and economic indicators.Analyze the financial implications of proposed investments or other transactions.Evaluate industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's financial and competitive position.Analyze revenues, expenses, costs, prices, investments, cash flow, profits, and other financial metrics.Advise executives to develop functional strategies on matters of significance.Exercise independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues.Required Qualifications:Transitioning Service Member eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge, or Military Spouse eligible to participate in the Military Spouse Fellowship Program.Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.5 or more years of finance and/or accounting experience, or equivalent.Experience advising senior leadership on financial strategies.Knowledge of complex accounting and financial transactions for internal and external reporting.Prior experience developing methods and criteria for measuring and summarizing data for complex analyses.Ability to lead and manage special projects that may necessitate cross-functional partnerships.Preferred Qualifications:Healthcare industry experience.2 or more years of leadership experience preferred.Master's degree in Business Administration or a CPA strongly preferred.Prior health insurance industry experience working in Finance/Accounting.Additional Information:The DOD SkillBridge Internship Program provides an opportunity for transitioning military service members to gain civilian work experience with an employer for a period between 90 and 180 days upon approval.The Military Spouse Fellowship Program connects military spouses with employers offering a variety of professional onsite, field, or remote based opportunities.Networking opportunities will be provided while participating in the Internship or Fellowship.Due to factors such as location, and/or requirements that cannot be modified, full-time employment is not guaranteed upon completion of the Internship or Fellowship.Workstyle:
