Become a part of our caring community and help us put health firstAre you a transitioning military service member or a Military Spouse looking for an internship that supports the goal to put health first?The DoD SkillBridge or Military Spouse Financial Planning & Analysis Lead Intern will utilize Humana's Medicaid training and mentorships and engage formerly acquired skillsets from military experience and education to perform within the finance Medicaid segment.The Financial Planning & Analysis Lead Intern analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. The Financial Planning & Analysis Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.The Financial Planning & Analysis Lead Intern will shadow within the department and among collaborative teams to:Collect, compile, verify, and analyze financial information and economic indicators so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making strategic and operational decisions on acquisitions, investments, capital expenditure, divestitures, mergers, or the sale of assets.Analyze the financial implications of proposed investments or other transactions so that senior managers can evaluate alternatives against the organization's business objectives.Evaluate industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium, and long-term financial and competitive position.Analyze revenues, expenses, costs, prices, investments, cash flow, profits, labor market trends, inflation, interest rates, and exchange rates, which may involve financial modeling, reporting, and budgeting.Advise executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance.Exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks and work under minimal supervision.Use your skills to make an impactRequired QualificationsTransitioning Service Member eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge, or Military Spouse eligible to participate in the Military Spouse Fellowship ProgramBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field5 or more years of finance and/or accounting experience, or equivalentExperience advising senior leadership on financial strategiesKnowledge of complex accounting and financial transactions for internal and external reportingPrior experience developing methods and criteria for measuring and summarizing data for complex analysesAbility to lead and manage special projects that may necessitate cross-functional partnershipsPreferred QualificationsHealthcare industry experience2 or more years of leadership experience preferredMaster's degree in Business Administration or a CPA strongly preferredPrior health insurance industry experience working in Finance/AccountingWorkstyle:

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting.
