November 3, 2022Job SummarySubscribes to, adheres to, and shares the Doctrines, Mission, and Positions of The Salvation Army. Serves as an evangelist to the community and constituency of the Corps; develops and leads worship services and ministerial programs; provides spiritual guidance and leadership. Assists the Corps Officer in planning, coordinating, administrating, monitoring, evaluating, and developing the day-to-day operations of the Corps; develops and leads religious programs; participates in social service programs providing assistance to people in need; coordinates arrangements for seasonal programs and recruits/supervises volunteers; supervises and schedules Corps groups, community outreach programs, and social service work; monitors and maintains adequate financing and budgetary compliance of the Corps operations.Essential FunctionsThis job description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. The incumbent may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description.Serves as an evangelist through the proclamation of Jesus Christ as redeemer with the intent of impacting the lives of men and women through spiritual regeneration.Assists Corps Officer and Program Coordinator in planning and implementing worship and outreach programs for the corps.Plans, develops, prepares, and leads specific youth ministries programs; leads or assists with regular meetings for Adventure Corps.Assists and partners with the Corps Officer(s) in developing Salvation Army evangelical mission outreach and growth.Assists in developing, leading and/or supporting Salvation Army evangelical mission programs and ministries.Assists in training and developing Corps Band and singing groups.Visits individuals and groups in the local community to establish a presence and increase awareness of Salvation Army ministries/programs.Communicates research findings and pertinent information about the local community to the Corps Officer.Plans, develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates program services based on changing needs.Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers for Corps programs.Sets an example for the Corps by being a Salvationist in Good Standing.Assists in the promotion of Corps growth goals and plans.Other ResponsibilitiesMay drive Salvation Army vehicle to transport Corps members to/from Corps programs; operates vehicles in compliance with established policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of the mission of The Salvation Army.Knowledge of Bible and its message.Knowledge of social service program development.Knowledge of The Salvation Army’s regulations and organizational structure.Ability to serve as an example of Salvationism and Christian stewardship.Ability to analyze local community needs.Ability to conduct thorough research and prepare reports.Ability to maintain confidentiality.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Education and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, and three years’ experience performing mission work or experience participating in program development for a church or corps, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.Licenses & CertificationsValid State Driver’s LicenseBon-a-fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ):

This position requires an active, uniform-wearing Salvationist in good standing.Physical RequirementsConstant amount of physical effort required associated with hand movement, holding, finger dexterity, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, vision, hearing, talking and sitting at least 90% of the work time; rare to occasional amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, squatting, crawling, and reaching.Working ConditionsWork is performed in a normal office environment. Work requires travel in order to conduct community and home visits.
