Founding Farmers is currently looking for a Senior Host Coordinator who is highly motivated by leadership and passionate about hospitality. We are looking for an experienced professional who can lead the host team with a high level of hospitality, anticipation, and awareness of our guests’ needs. Our Senior Host Coordinator will manage reservations within OpenTable and ensure company standards are upheld by the Host Team. The ideal candidate has experience running the door of a high-volume restaurant and is well-versed in managing reservation system(s). The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, an affinity for making guests feel welcome, and possess both confidence and composure in working within a dynamic, fast-paced, and team-based environment.BENEFITS + PERKS:Health insurance plans are available for as low as $100 per month after 90 days of employment!Dental and vision plansPaid time offPaid pregnancy and parental leaveFree access to company massage therapistDiscounted gym & yoga membershipFree online mental health therapy (unlimited text messaging and two optional 30-minute live video therapy sessions per month) through our partner, TalkSpace, for all employees and their immediate family membersTraining and career growth opportunitiesFree Employee Assistance ProgramWHAT OUR SENIOR HOST COORDINATOR DOES:Maintains and updates the seating chart, including making reservations, keeping track of available tables, and managing waiting lists in coordination with kitchen and serving staffGuides opening and closing of the restaurant in cooperation with the Chef and Back-of-House managerAssists with training and developing team members on hospitality, company best practices, reservation coordination and use of OpenTableManage and monitor the restaurant's reservation system using OpenTableAnswer the restaurant phone and provide friendly service for all guests and stakeholdersDedicates themselves to learning our menu and operationsPlays a vital role in the success of a restaurant by creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guestsKeeps waiting areas clean and organized and ensures that waiting customers are comfortableGreets guests who arrive for takeout orders and coordinates delivery orders with staff drivers and mobile food delivery servicesAssist guests in making reservationsRespond to guest requests and inquiries in a timely and friendly mannerSupport the service staff by removing dishes and glasses from tables or counters and taking them to the dish roomAssist with setting up dining areas to prepare for large parties and brunch buffetPerform duties, such as sweeping, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, and checking the bathroom(s)Other important tasks, as assigned, that keep all our guest operations running smoothlyEnsures guests have a pleasant, welcoming, and memorable dining experienceResolves conflicts or addresses or works to prevent guest disappointmentsWHAT YOU NEED TO BE A SENIOR HOST COORDINATOR:Previous Host experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurantExperience with multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skillsSkilled in providing excellent customer service and hospitalityExcellent knowledge of and experience with OpenTable requiredExcellent attention to detailAbility to stay calm and provide actionable solutions to problems under pressure, to diffuse tense situations, and to resolve interpersonal conflictComfortable operating in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds, as neededCapable of continuous bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and use of hands and armsFlexibility to adapt to a constantly changing environment and set of challengesAbility to collaborate effectively with othersBasic math and computer skills, including data entry and familiarity with point of sale (POS) softwareFarmers Restaurant Group was voted as one of the Best Places to Work across the Greater Washington, D.C. area.
