Senior Facade Designer

Western Building Group (WBG), an architectural sheet metal fabrication and installation specialty contractor, is looking for a full-time Senior Facade Designer for our Mesa, Arizona office. Senior Façade Designer will participate in the pre-construction design of complex roof and wall panel system fabrication and installation projects. Responsibilities include:Create proprietary parametric scripts utilizing Grasshopper and Rhino software internally modified on a project basis.Create production data through the use of Grasshopper and Rhino software, which will be used to create laser scanned point-cloud models.Work with licensed architects to create and document design projects including complicated parametric designed projects.Develop workflows and protocols for the exchange of data between international offices.Prepare shop drawings, fabrication drawings, bills of quantities, and method statements.Prepare structural, thermal, acoustic calculations analysis, and facilitate BIM modelling requirements for roof and wall systems.Manage relationships with clients, architects, and relevant organizations regarding drafting, design, and installation matters.Oversee, monitor, and train drafters in the preparation and submission of shop drawings.Provide guidance to Design Engineers and outsourcing Design Companies in developing design solutions.Liaise with suppliers and provide input in finalizing details to accommodate site conditions.Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Architectural Studies/Architectural Design & 2 years of experience utilizing Grasshopper and Rhino software for 3-D designing and documenting fabrication for large-scale construction projects.
