As the Director of People at Compass Health, you will play a critical role in leading the development and execution of Compass’ people strategy across the organization as we continue to scale. You’ll oversee our HR business partner team, and act as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organization in areas including employee relations, performance management, organizational development, DEI and more, in addition to leading our employee engagement and experience strategy. This role will report to the Chief People Officer, and will directly manage a team that is pivotal to supporting our growth.
What You'll Do:
Directly manage a team of HR Business Partners responsible for strategically partnering with their aligned teams and acting as the single point of contact for areas such as coaching, employee relations, performance management, compensation, team effectiveness, engagement, employee changes/terminations, and accommodations.
Work to optimize the structure and resourcing of the team to best meet the needs of the business
Act as HR business partner for newer sites as well as future sites. Partner closely with leaders of future sites to establish and execute best method processes for effective launches
Lead Compass’ end to end employee experience and engagement strategy including annual engagement and pulse surveys, new hire check-ins, engagement action planning, and exit interviews
Lead Compass’ end to end performance management strategy and process including goal setting, mid-year check ins, performance evaluations, and talent review and promotion processes
Serve as a member of Compass’ People & Talent Leadership Team in developing and implementing the overall people strategy for the organization
Direct DEI annual report and action planning processes
Manage, coach, and develop a team, and mentor other People & Talent team members in other functions. Build proactive relationships with leaders across the organization. Develop and maintain a high level of comprehension of Compass’ daily operations, strategic position, financial and operating objectives
Work closely with the program leadership and employees to improve work relationships, create culture, build morale, and retention
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
Comfortable working within an HRIS system, preferably ADP, and assisting the broader HR team with the implementation of changes that improve team efficiency.
Maintain working knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations to ensure compliance.
Assist with the drafting and updating of HR policies.

Who You Are:
Bachelors degree
SHRM or PHR certification preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR with at least 5 years of experience HR business partner roles and at least 3 years of leadership experience
Proven track record of acting as a trusted advisor and HR business partner to senior leaders
Proven track record of leading teams through complex employee relations and performance management situations
Extremely organized and detail oriented
Experience with HR reporting and analysis; advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience working in a HR start up environment is preferred
Ability to maintain calm under pressure and flex with the needs of the business/team
Great communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with leaders and staff
Ability to see trends in both quantitative and qualitative data and use that data to communicate with the business
Positive attitude and passion for working in the mental health space
Ability to prioritize and manage a large breadth of work
Proficient in basic HR concepts, employment law, tools, and policies
