Position Overview:The Senior Revenue Accountant will be a member of our growing Quickbase Revenue Accounting team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting. This is a unique and critical role that offers the opportunity to (1) grow your revenue accounting and reporting expertise; (2) lead transformative projects to automate, streamline and continually improve our processes; and (3) play a critical role in the sales process through partnership with Sales, Quote-to-Cash, and Legal peers on deal structure and contract reviews.

Functional Responsibilities:Perform monthly financial close of revenue and related accounts including deferred revenue, contract assets, capitalized contract costs, and others, investigating and resolving discrepancies for a smooth close process.Contribute to continuous improvement and automation initiatives of revenue accounting including participation in the implementation and ongoing management of a revenue recognition system.Document technical accounting conclusions on new and modified revenue contracts, including support for accounting estimates (e.g. standard selling price “SSP” analysis) and judgments required in the application of ASC 606.Assist with audit requests and serve as a key contact to the PwC audit team for revenue and related accounts.Partner with FP&A on forecasting, revenue flux and reporting tasks including bookings to billings reconciliation, deferred revenue and contract assets rollforwards, and tracking of other metrics.Assist with sales tax reconciliation and reporting in partnership with AR Team.Perform deal reviews and provide approvals in Salesforce.Analyze contract terms to identify and assess revenue recognition implications, including performance obligations, transaction price allocation, and timing of revenue recognition.Assess contract modifications and their potential effects on existing revenue arrangements.Identify and document any non-standard terms or complex arrangements that may require special revenue recognition treatment.Other projects and job duties as required.

Cross-Functional Partnership:Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, and Legal on contract negotiations and provide best practice recommendations to ensure deals are appropriately structured (considering risk, revenue optimization, operations and ASC 606 requirements).Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance existing operating processes and automation (to ensure accurate results are achieved efficiently).Develop and deliver comprehensive training sessions on revenue recognition principles under ASC 606 to the Revenue Operations team.Collaborate with the billing and collection teams for any items impacting revenue.Serve as a key Finance representative and bring the revenue accounting perspective to new product and service launch initiatives.Support growth by participating in M&A activities as it relates to revenue, including integration of people, processes and systems.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.CPA a plus, but not required.4+ years relevant revenue recognition experience in a SaaS company environment; a combination of Big 4 and industry experience highly preferred.In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 with the ability to identify revenue-impacting terms in contracts and proposals; communicate the impact in a clear, logical manner.Solid research skills with the ability to comprehend and apply authoritative guidance in complex scenarios.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and at all levels within a company.Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.Experience with NetSuite (including the Advanced Revenue Module) preferred. Experience with BillingPlatform, Salesforce, and Avalara/sales tax compliance a plus, but not required.Preferably located in the Greater Boston area for option to join onsite events with local team.
