With 250 events across more than 40 countries on six continents, Spartan is the world's leading extreme wellness and endurance brand.About the Opportunity:We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of deferred revenue, revenue recognition, and accounting treatment for sponsorships. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all accounting transactions related to these areas are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported in accordance with accounting principles and company policies.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Support month-end and year-end close process.Prepare journal entries, reports, etc. related to activities for the corporate cost centers for NAM including but not limited to Fixed Assets, Leases, Goodwill, Intangibles, Debt, Payroll, non-controlling interest.Prepare monthly account reconciliation for all corporate legal entities.Prepare the monthly reporting packages for corporate entities for the consolidation.Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance for various entities.Support internal and external audit of financial processes and statements.Prepare and/or participate in activities on the monthly closing checklist to ensure they are completed in a timely manner.Assist with the aggregation of data for quarterly and annually reported footnotes.Special project as assigned (e.g., research newly issued Accounting Standards, assisting with the implementation of the Company’s global ERP system, integration of newly acquired businesses, ad hoc analysis, other financial system upgrades, etc.)RequirementsQualifications:Strong understanding of ASC 606.Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.CPA or CPA candidate preferred.5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on deferred revenue, revenue recognition, and sponsorship accounting.Strong understanding of GAAP reporting requirements.Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Proficiency in Google Sheets and other accounting software.Spartan Race is an equal-opportunity employer.
