Senior Human Resources Generalist
to begin September 1, 2024 or sooner.
CalWest Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree
and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
Requisite skills commensurate with the position
A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred AND three to five (3-5) years of related experience in payroll and benefits.
Experience with Paylocity or similar cloud-based human capital management (HCM) platform.
Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills, integrity and the ability to keep information confidential.
Demonstrate excellent analytical skills characterized by identifying, assimilating and comprehending the critical elements of various situations, and extracting and interpreting the implications of courses of action.
Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) characterized by actively listening and ensuring respectful two-way communication.
Demonstrate sensitivity, understanding, and the ability to effectively interact with individuals (internal/external) from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, disability and ethnic backgrounds.
Demonstrate strong time management skills and a high level of attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Extremely flexible, proactive, highly organized, and ability to easily shift priorities, multi-task, and handle heavy workflow processing.
Computer skills sufficient to maintain records, create reports and support staff access to online payroll and benefit platforms. This includes Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Compliance with evidence of freedom from active tuberculosis, COVID-19 vaccination, criminal record review and employment eligibility verification.
Responsibilities
Oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll by working closely with a third party, Edtec, and school site point person.
Oversee unpaid and paid leave, including, but not limited to FMLA, Disability, PFL, Worker’s Compensation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Answer frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Manage and administer Health & Welfare Benefits.
Act as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
Conduct or assist with the on-boarding process and assist with new hire orientation.
Assist with planning and execution of Open Enrollment and other benefit-related informational events.
Continuously learn the latest HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary Range$75,000-
$112,000
