POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Director of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for overseeing and managing the overall HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, training and development, and compensation and benefits. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive HR initiatives aligned with organizational objectives while fostering a positive and inclusive company culture. The Director of HR will work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that attract, develop, and retain top talent while ensuring a high-performance work environment.

What You'll Do

Lead and manage the day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR compliance.

Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the company’s business goals.

Oversee talent acquisition processes, ensuring the organization attracts and hires top talent.

Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and company culture.

Responsible for executing on our talent people strategy, as well as driving innovative and modern concepts and technology into our talent practices.

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, and succession planning.

Manage performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.

Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure they are competitive, equitable, and compliant with regulations.

Provide leadership and oversight of HR practices related to government contracting and grants, particularly with agencies such as DOE, DOD and other governmental bodies.

Ensure HR policies and practices meet the stringent compliance and reporting requirements associated with government contracts and grants.

Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures that are in line with legal requirements and best practices.

Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to promote a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Provide coaching and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and career development.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Lead organizational change management efforts during periods of growth, restructuring, or transformation.

Develop and manage the HR budget, including resource allocation and cost control.

Oversee the design and delivery of training and development programs for leadership and staff.

Monitor HR metrics and use data-driven insights to improve processes and employee outcomes.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

8+ years of HR experience with at least 3 years in a management role.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.

Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.

Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and HR technology systems.

Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results.

Experience in managing organizational change, talent management, and DEI programs.

Professional HR certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar are highly desirable.

Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
