ABOUT THE COURTLos Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States. Located in Southern California, Los Angeles County is geographically one of the nation's largest counties, covering 4,752 square miles and, with over 10,400,000 residents, is also one of its most populous counties.ABOUT THE POSITIONASL Interpreters (Non-Courtroom)
performs a wide variety of American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services, in person or via remote videoconference, for the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles. Incumbents in this classification perform ASL interpretation services for deaf or hard-of-hearing jurors in non-courtroom settings, such as jury orientation at any of the Court’s jury assembly rooms, as well as provide language access services to deaf and/or hard-of-hearing persons as mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). A valid California Class C driver's license or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation is required to carry out job-related essential functions.EXAMINATION INFORMATION:
