The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Strategy & Transformation has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Strategy & Transformation Associate to work at our UHealth Medical Campus in Miami, FL.
The Strategy & Transformation Associate contributes to UHealth’s success by providing insight & analytical support for key strategy/strategic planning initiatives and plays an integral role in helping define the future of the enterprise and drive critical business initiatives through analysis and communication of data. The Strategy & Transformation Associate (H) proactively identifies and executes actions to deliver valuable outcomes without explicit direction. The incumbent helps to manage the project lifecycle for projects – including idea generation, initiative scoping & standup, approach and workplan development, analysis on priority topics, financial modeling, presentation development/delivery, and follow-through to value delivery. The incumbent provides recommendations with data-based insights and influences a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Acts as a strategic consultant/advisor for the broader UM/UHealth enterprise; supports, leads, and influences the formulation and delivery of strategic projects and initiatives.
Prepares project design and analytics approach to work for review and input by strategy leadership.
Manages multiple work streams/projects efficiently.
Develops strategic objectives and associated metrics to allow a ‘strategic view’ of organizational or specific initiative progress.
Leverages knowledge, skills and relationships to develop frameworks, conduct analysis, generate insights, and communicate those insights to support/influence strategy and transformation agenda.
Manages, manipulates, and analyzes multiple large and complex financial, operational, and strategic data sets and sources.
Undertakes quantitative and qualitative assessments, and conducts primary research, to support the development of evidence-based strategy.
Distills analytical findings into actionable insights; synthesizes analytics and key insights into presentation-ready documents.
Presents findings to S&T team & mid-level stakeholder groups; develops presentations that will be presented to large audiences, including UM/UHealth’s executive leadership team.
Develops and maintains an understanding of strategic issues facing UM/UHealth through analyzing trends, horizon scanning, and building relationships with colleagues across the organization.
Collaborates and builds rapport with all levels of the organization ensuring a positive image is conveyed to internal and external partners and stakeholders.
Solicits and incorporates feedback effectively; understands different perspectives within the organization.
Utilizes internal and external software/tools to gather and extract data and applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, others) to interpret, analyze, and visualize high-level data.
Demonstrates high emotional intelligence with deftness in navigating complex organizations with multiple stakeholders.
Contributes to team’s work and culture, supports colleagues, builds collective capabilities of S&T team, and plays a vocal part in team meetings.
Manages/supervises/develops interns as assigned.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Works effectively across organization lines with departments, schools, and specialties.
Understands the local/regional/national market trends impacting higher education, including trends in student, research, and educational offering markets.
Supports shaping and management of strategic initiatives within higher education setting, navigating complex academic environments and engaging with broad stakeholders.
Identifies and leverages important data sources and converts data to meaningful information.
Frames information and insights to highlight relevant takeaways for various stakeholders and audiences.
Advances business development, strategy, and transformation plans and makes recommendations to senior management on how to best execute.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, other) preferred.
Experience:
3+ years of total work experience OR 2+ years of consulting experience at a top 20 consulting firm (inclusive of time enrolled in advanced degree, if relevant); Experience working with higher education institutions on strategic planning and broad transformational initiatives is preferred. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
Proficiency in computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office).
Superior skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Ability to perform in and adapt to a dynamic environment.
