Physical Security System Engineer I (Hybrid)

Overview:
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.This position resides in the Corporate Real Estate division at First Citizens Bank. The role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the Bank's physical security applications and infrastructure. Administers software that supports security system user applications, clients and hardware. Installs, automates, and tests infrastructures for continuous improvement. Monitors overall systems performance to identify potential issues and tune appropriately. Addresses failed components or technical issues and provides resolution. Maintains strong technical abilities, project management, knowledge of new and changing technologies, and the ability to productively collaborate with vendors, associates, and management.Responsibilities:Technical Support - Minimizes end user impacts throughout the installation and testing of software, patches, and upgrades to system products. Resolves problems and failures that occur in assigned products and technical facilities. Responsible for administration, communication, training and documentation throughout technical support activities. Assists in implementing and maintaining processes related to daily backup, recovery, and data security.System Testing - Tests system to determine function, results, stability, performance, and resource consumption. Verifies the successful implementation of software, patches, and upgrades. Performs a variety of planning and technical activities to ensure resource availability.System Enhancement - Works to continuously monitor and improve systems, processes, and related technical infrastructure. Improves technical effectiveness through basic utilities or software scripting languages.Technical Proficiency - Maintains a strong knowledge base through ongoing research and education. Ensures consistency is maintained across supported systems. Communicates effective and clear technical information to associates, vendor support personnel, and internal clients.
Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and 1 years of experience in systems support role OR High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in Security Systems support roleAdditional Required Qualifications:Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and AccessAbility to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a weekExperience with Video Surveillance, Intrusion and Access Control systems and hardware, preferably: Verint, DMP, Milestone, Envoy, and RS2Preferred:Exposure to mainframe, desktop, or server system support and troubleshootingExposure to Operating Systems (Windows Desktop, Server, Linux, AIX)Exposure to desktop and server virtualizationExposure to Directory and Authentication servicesUnderstanding of data flow, network interfaces, and protocols such as Systems Network Architecture (SNA), Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Domain Name System (DNS), and NetBIOS Extended User Interface (NetBEUI)Exposure to Business Continuity ProcessesUnderstanding of data flow, network interfaces, and integrations between various system platformsFirst Citizens benefits programs are designed to meet our associates where they are in life.
