SFC protects over 3.5 million workers per year in over 120,000 workplaces from slip and fall accidents. For over 30 years, the Company has built its reputation through innovative product development technologies, proprietary manufacturing, and distinct niche marketing.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Business Intelligence is responsible for providing strategic planning, leadership and support for SFC through functions such as analysis, data policy, systems design, modeling, and projections.
This includes providing planning and analysis around business processes throughout the company by developing and maintaining data design, structure, and infrastructure to support strategic planning activities.Lead research and analysis to support Marketing and Sales business operations and drive performance improvement.Manage projects with stakeholders to analyze needs, define business requirements and priorities, research and identify solutions, ensure achievement of project goals, and evaluate the success of a project once implemented.Evaluate large data sets with sophisticated quantitative analyses and develop models that translate data into actionable insights in order to solve difficult, non-routine problems.Educate and guide partners on best practices for assessment projects, data uses, and overall tools and techniques. Present quantitative and qualitative analyses to support recommendations to senior management for sound business solutions, including development of metrics to assess and report performance.
Specifically, the position will be involved in:
Identification, establishment, and promotion of best use of data analytics to deliver strategic objectives; and use of information to deliver transformational changes.Championing an information culture that drives continuous marketing and sales business improvement.Overseeing the development of Consumer Insights function integrating internal and external data to drive knowledge about the company's customer experience and positioning relative to the industry.Supervision of a staff of approximately five individuals, including measuring and optimizing the performance of the members of the team by ensuring optimal communication, coordination, and prioritization of the team's projects.Identification of marketing improvement opportunities based on information. Promote evidence-based best practice.Translation of complex quantitative information into presentations and reports that are easily understood by leadership. Summarize and report key analytical findings to all levels of management.Assistance with education and development of skills sets in data analysis.Projects such as:
Development and implementation of a Binary Score system and the according dashboards to measure the company's customers' file health.Development and implementation of a One Model based on the Binary Score to replace the company's legacy RFM model.Development and implementation of an attribution methodology to replace the company's legacy Keycode-based system.In depth analysis of catalogs and e-commerce productivity, identifying opportunities for improvementDevelopment and implementation of a circulation recommendation model, based on predicted revenue and breakeven.Development of a revenue-driven media plan integrating a testing framework.Modeling of new prospection and reactivation initiatives, including corporate/retail cross prospection, NMAs and Reacts programs.Analysis of marketing efforts by channel and source.Analysis of customers' LTV by channel, source and demographics.Required competencies include:
Experience working with and influencing marketing teams.Experience with both catalog and e-commerce operations.An in-depth of knowledge in and with: digital; mobile, eCRM, online user experience, Search/SEO, paid media, targeting and analytics, Customer Loyalty, Retention, and Recruitment strategies as well as emerging digital technologies and best practices.Experience implementing and supporting BI tools, such as SAS, and analytics software, such as Google Analytics, to generate reports and interpret high-level data for both team members and management.Strong computer and Microsoft office skills with proficiency for spreadsheets and relational database management required. SQL and VBA coding skills are a must.Experience working with responsive design platforms; planning, developing and implementing professional websites-preferably at a major market level; content management systems, HTML code, and page layout; social media publishing and monitoring applications.Understanding of budget management and accounting principles required.Experience working closely with business partners, to craft realistic and achievable short and
long-term expectations and goals for achieving analytics capabilities that drive real business value.
Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills required.Proven ability to promote innovation and future state thinking required.Demonstrated ability to manage difficult and complex issues.
