A law firm is seeking a Land Use Associate Attorney for their San Diego office. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of meaningful experience in land use, planning, and zoning. They should have experience representing property owners, developers, tenants, or municipalities throughout the land entitlement and development process. A strong working knowledge of environmental, regulatory, and administrative law issues is essential. The candidate should possess exceptional academic credentials and practical legal experience. Admission to the California Bar is required.Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients, including property owners, developers, tenants, and municipalities, throughout the land entitlement and development process.Advise on land use, planning, and zoning matters, including the interpretation and application of local, state, and federal regulations.Handle legal issues related to environmental compliance, regulatory matters, and administrative law affecting land use and development.Prepare and file applications, petitions, and other documents necessary for land use approvals and permits.Conduct legal research and analysis related to land use, environmental regulations, and zoning laws.Participate in negotiations and draft agreements related to land development projects.Represent clients in hearings, meetings, and before governmental agencies regarding land use and development matters.Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to advance client interests and achieve favorable outcomes.Qualifications & RequirementsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Admission to the California State Bar (required).2-4 years of meaningful experience in land use, planning, and zoning.Experience representing clients in land entitlement and development processes.Strong working knowledge of environmental, regulatory, and administrative law issues related to land use.Advanced legal research, writing, and analytical skills.Proficiency in drafting and negotiating legal documents and agreements.Strong understanding of land use, planning, and zoning laws and regulations.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients, colleagues, and governmental agencies.Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic approach to land use and development issues.High level of professionalism and commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
