The company’s brand portfolio includes the leading brands Domino, C&H, Redpath, Tate & Lyle, Lyle’s, and Sidul.OVERVIEWThe Quality Control Inspector (QCI) conducts quality testing for the Refinery’s products, maintains calibrated instrumentation, enters data into SAP for generation of Certificates of Analyses (COAs), conducts environmental sampling and analysis, and participates in other projects as assigned by the supervisor. The position is typically weekly rotating 8 or 12-hour shifts for 24-hour coverage, including variable weekend shifts.DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms routine quality analyses such as sediment, grain size distribution, color, brix, polarity, pH, and environmental analyses.Monitors and maintains calibrations for lab equipment.Monitors lab instrument performance, makes adjustments, and/or alerts supervision to instrument problems.Reports to Supervisor the general condition of equipment and recommends replacement when necessary.Enters raw data into multiple databases and maintains chronology of entries.Collects environmental samples at multiple sites throughout the refinery during sugar detector TOC alarm conditions and weekly sampling protocol.Analyzes environmental samples to determine sucrose levels.Responsible for work area cleanliness.Responsible for keeping required records and documentation.Responsible for entering data into SAP for the generation of COAs.Communicates results to interested stakeholders and abides by the Lab’s high customer service standards.Performs other duties as may be assigned.WORK EXPERIENCESThe ideal candidate should have at least two (2) years of experience working in the Quality department of a related manufacturing or industrial setting.Previous Quality inspection experience preferred.Previous experience requiring mathematical and scientific skill sets preferred.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or GED is required.Must have the ability to:Multi-task and report findings in a timely fashion.Interpret and apply company and customer specifications.Operate analytical equipment.Utilize instruments and equipment in a safe and proficient manner.Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.Communicate clearly with effective verbal and written skills.Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment.Proficiently use Microsoft Office products.Regard safety as a core value.Display strong scientific and mathematical aptitude.Lift up to 50 lbs.Work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.PAY RATE:Hourly Pay Rate: $25.65LOCATION OF ROLEWe are an equal opportunity employer.
