As a Marketing Assistant for the Sourcebooks Trade non-fiction list, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our publicity, social media, and marketing efforts, contributing to the success of our bestselling titles and authors. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated individual who is enthusiastic about breaking into book publishing and eager to gain hands-on experience in an empowered, reader-led publishing environment.

This position is a hybrid role and requires 3/days a week in office in Naperville, Illinois. Rate of pay is $19.50/hourly

Marketing Assistant Responsibilities:Organize and catalog promotional materials in the office storage.Track updates to the influencer database and organize contacts.Supporting publicity efforts such as trade submissionsMonitor Goodreads and online retail product pages for accuracy as needed.Post and fulfill Goodreads giveaways.Tracking and inputting shipments and author event information into shared databases.Edit and approve newsletter copy and provide retailer links on a weekly basisSocial Media MarketingContribute to community growth and management by engaging with readers and followers on social mediaSupport key author posts with reposts and sharingCreate graphics and content for the Nonfiction marketing team, as neededDraft impactful captions, headlines, descriptive copy, and other creative elements, as neededInfluencer MarketingSupport influencer campaigns (Giveaways, VIP mailings, unboxings, etc) by contributing ideas for merch and special packagingProvide campaign-specific influencer lists for title marketers as neededMaintain constant familiarity with the influencers in the influencer program and always be looking for new influencers to addMust be present in-person at the Naperville office five full days per week every week to physically pack influencer boxes and mailingsProvide title marketing leads with photos of physical products and packed influencer boxes for quality checks by requestEvents/Trade ShowsFacilitate author events, develop promotional graphics, coordinate itineraries, ship and ensure delivery of books and marketing materials.Attend and support local events, conferences, and book festivals to track materials, help with set up, handle line management, interact with readers, provide author assistance (flapping), and tear down including shipping unused materials back to the warehouse or office, as needed.Support the planning or key industry conferences in support of Sourcebooks and Callisto imprints and authorsOther marketing duties and support activities as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Experience using consumer design software such as Canva.Be a self-starter. Exhibit initiative, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to marketing books in this category.A willingness and ability to collaborate with others and thrive within a culture of shared ideas.Possess a talent for innovation and have the flexibility to change focus rapidly, multi-task, and be ahead of trends.Strong creative perspective including writing skills and visual instincts, an experimental mindset, and a drive to discover new ideas.A true love for books.Requirements:
