This position supervises and coordinates the activities of Campus Mail Services. The incumbent engages in the receipt, distribution, and mailing of campus mail and performs clerical tasks associated with the billing and reconciliation of daily postage charges.Examples of Work Performed

Supervises and coordinates the activities of Campus Mail Services.Performs clerical duties including sorting, collecting, and metering postal materials in accordance with established procedures and federal postal regulations.Supervises and participates in the tracking of lost, mis-delivered, or damaged letters and packages.Supervises various personnel functions such as hiring, training, time approval, merit recommendations, promotions, and vacation schedules.Tracks and enters daily postage charges for mail processed through Campus Mail Services.Prepares daily posting of mail charges and bills departmental accounts for surcharges and postage due as well as accounts receivable billing.Monitors USPS account balances, reserve account balances and prepares requests to fund USPS and reserve accounts.Prepares monthly reports for Procurement Services including insurance and bulk mail reports.Prepares and maintains filing system of correspondence, records, and reports.Receives letters and parcels for mailing.Provides customer services to University community, which includes advising members of the most efficient, economical methods of mailing materials.Maintains relationship with USPS including local postmaster and post office staff.Maintains and updates customer database.Operates postage meter machine to stamp outgoing letters, weighs and stamps packages, and delivers mail in the absence of delivery staff as needed.Maintains daily records of metered mail.Maintains departmental equipment including vehicles and postal meters/machines and maintenance records.Assists in preparation of departmental budget and makes recommendations for equipment purchases.Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.Essential Functions

Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.Supervises support staff and participates in the receipt, distribution, and mailing out of campus mail.Monitors activities to ensure compliance with established procedures and federal postal regulations.Prepares and maintains postal reports and daily records.Processes billing and reconciliation of daily postage charges.Minimum Education/Experience
