Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategies to increase pre-owned sales, profitability and market-share

Oversee all used car departments in Peoria Illinois market with 3 locations (currently).

Assist Dealerships with proper pre-owned inventory mix, while managing a consistent inventory pricing to maximize profitability and inventory turn.

Manage aged units proactively across stores to maximize retail opportunities including reallocation of aged inventory and aligned brands.

Work with staff on the development of our dealership Managers to ensure they understand the U/C strategy, process, and procedures

Partner with Executive Leadership to ensure the strategic objectives of the organization as they pertain to pre-owned vehicles are being met.

Develop and implement training and processes that support the overall success of the pre-owned vehicles

Partner with the Service & Recon Manager to manage reconditioning process of Used Vehicles

Establish/maintaining relationships with vendors, auctions, Vauto, Rapid Recon etc.

Analyze business shortfalls, identify store-specific opportunities and engage management on an improvement plan.

Effectively manage all areas of the pre-owned department including auction activities, wholesale and retail operations, and pre-owned acquisition.

Understand and keep abreast of federal, state, and local regulations.

Handle and resolve customer issues or concerns promptly and professionally.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Five years of previous experience as an Automotive Pre Owned Sales Manager in a high-end dealership is required.

Experience and knowledge of finance operations, knowledge of bank programs and ability to create excellent lender relationships are important for this position.

Excellent customer service skills are required.

Previous experience with high volume and producing high units per month is preferred.

Effective verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on presentation and negotiation

The organizational skills needed to keep the department running smoothly

Proficient with CRM, Appraisal and DMS software programs

Valid/clean drivers license and background check

Willingness to work Saturdays and attend special events when needed

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
