Included will be supporting students with self-assessment, career search, and job offer decision-making. This position will also be responsible for maintaining a knowledge base of industries hiring MBAs and companies that recruit at the Kellogg School of Management with a particular focus on assigned industries. The Associate Director must also teach workshops designed to enhance students' professional development and ability to manage their career experiences.This position reports directly to the Senior Associate Director of Coaching. This is a hybrid position - the Associate Director will be in the office three days a week, remote two days a week although there may be weeks which require additional in-person work.Principal Responsibilities:Advising/Counseling1. Supervises programs and services that provide personalized coaching and advising that focuses on self-assessment, research, job and internship search strategies, reflection, and strategic decision-making. This includes 1-on-1 coaching as well as small group advising.2. Manages customer service; creates associated practices, procedures, and metrics to measure success.3. Maintains knowledge of job market trends and hiring practices specifically in the consulting or tech industries.4. Utilizes data to inform program development and allocate resources for students.Relationships1. Partners with CMC employer relations colleagues, internal/external departments, faculty, alumni, and employers to identify career pathways and create an outreach plan to engage organizations that will result in opportunities spanning a broad range of industries and geographies.2. Develops & executes strategies to involve internal/external constituents and cultivate alumni relationships.3. Advises and works closely with student professional clubs aligned to industry focus.Administrative1. Manages and evaluates assigned student-facing projects.2. Creates, delivers, and evaluates workshops.Qualifications and Competencies:Minimum Qualifications:Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree and 5 years of career coaching in higher education or 5 years of industry experience; or other relevant experience required.Minimum Competencies:1. Previous experience serving as a career coach to/working in career services and/or recruiting with professional graduate students, alumni, and/or working professionals.2. Excellent communication skills, strong organization skills, and a high degree of creativity and initiative are essential.3. Self-starter, able to work in a professional manner both independently and with others.4. Self-confidence and the ability to take ideas and translate them into actionable plans.5. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.6. Ability to adapt and change with organizational needs.7. Ability to be flexible and function effectively in team settings as a leader and contributor.8. Ability to work with students, employers, and alumni.9. Ability to work in a complex collaborative environment.Preferred Qualifications:1. Successful completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a master's degree in business administration, human resources, higher education, and/or related field.2. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience working in career services, recruiting, and/or a related field.3. Demonstrated experience focusing on student learning and outcomes assessment.4. Experience working in the Consulting or Technology industries is highly desirable.5. Understanding of the MBA landscape.Preferred Competencies:1. Familiarity with professional platforms such as LinkedIn and GenerativeAI tools such as ChatGPT.2. Technical proficiency with database systems and Microsoft Office.Target hiring range for this position will be between $90,000 - $105,000 per year.
