We are looking for an experienced and motivated Rail Project Manager to join our highly skilled Chicago Rail Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in rail engineering design and a proven track record of successfully leading and managing rail projects from planning through design and construction. The candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with class 1 freight railroads and passenger systems such as Amtrak, CTA, and Metra both in the Chicago area and across the country. We are looking for a project manager who is experienced in the Chicago market and is looking to join a team with a deep local bench of technical design staff and bolster a national practice of talented rail professionals.Responsibilities
Lead and manage all phases of rail projects, from design to constructionDevelop project scope, budget, and scheduleNegotiate contracts with clients and stakeholdersDirect engineering staff ranging from junior to senior level to develop technical reports, designs, and specificationsWork closely with other project managers and group leads within the Rail Division to plan resources and manage internal workshareAssist and lead in developing capture and win plans, proposals, and other business development activitiesAbility to meet with client and public stakeholders and perform site visits in the field as necessaryQualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineering (P.E.) license10+ years of experience in design and/or planning rail projectsPrior experience managing rail projectsStrong understanding of rail projects and working knowledge of traction power, communications, signaling, and structural systemsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with desire to work closely with clients and other stakeholders outside of technical engineering teamsCompensation Range:
$109,063.00 - $145,418.00 STV is committed to paying all its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner. The listed pay range is STV’s good-faith salary estimates for this position. Please note that the final salary offered for this position may be outside of this published range based on many factors, including but not limited to geography, education, experience, and/or certifications.
