We are building a diverse and collaborative team of folks who are "amped about cement" (pun intended), who share our values (excellence, creativity, and teamwork), and our motivation to create a better world.Position OverviewSublime Systems seeks a creative and dynamic R&D Co-op or Intern to contribute to the development of our cement manufacturing process. The co-op or intern will be responsible for conducting electrochemistry research including hands-on lab-scale testing, data analysis, and literature reviews. As a member of Sublime Systems’ R&D team, the R&D co-op or intern will work closely with the company’s experienced researchers and will receive extensive mentorship. This is an exciting opportunity to combat global climate change by transforming how the world makes cement.The role will focus on electrochemical process optimization and materials characterization. This role is expected to be hands-on, with a significant amount of time spent engaging in lab testing. The ideal candidate will have experience working in chemistry or chemical engineering laboratories. Successful candidates will be results-driven, detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is a full time (40 hr/wk) in-person position located in Somerville, MA.Responsibilities include:
Performing experiments including laboratory-scale testing of electrochemical systems, materials synthesis, and physical or chemical characterizationAnalyzing data, interpreting results, and presenting findings to Sublime’s teamContributing to the development of Sublime’s process through literature reviewsChampioning safety, especially in the development and execution of experimental processesFostering Sublime Systems’ reputation by delivering innovative solutionsHelping to develop a supportive, innovative, and dynamic company cultureKnowledge and Skill Requirements
