Job Description
The Head of Standards will perform the duties and responsibilities of the Chief Instructor when required and as noted in FAR Part 141.85. Supervise and coordinate all standardization activities to ensure regulatory compliance. Directly supervise the Career Instructors group. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Responsible for planning and supervising instructor training and qualification process and maintaining instructor training records for instructors at the Skyborne Airline Academy. This includes both flight and ground instructors. Maintain and implement the Academy Instructor Training and Standardization Manual and revise as necessary. Conduct Stage Checks and other evaluations of students and instructors as required. Develop and maintain program of training courses as required. Conduct initial and annual standardization of the Academy’s instructors as required. Chief Instructor duties as delegated by Chief Instructor. Conducting flight training in accordance with FARs and Skyborne course outline or contract training course, as appropriate. Maintain currency in all new procedures and regulations. Other tasks assigned by the Chief Flight Instructor. Maintain recency in accordance with FAR 61.57 on file with instructor records. Adhere to Skyborne regulations. Qualifications
Requirements: Commercial Pilot Certificate and a valid Flight Instructor Certificate with appropriate ratings. Meet the requirements of FAR 141.36. Complete initial instructor standardization in accordance with FAR 141.79. Complete annual recurrent instructor standardization in accordance with FAR 141.79. Software / Other Skills Required: Ability to interact with a diverse student body, along with varied customer base (current and/or prospective) while providing high level of customer service. Capability to adapt to changing schedules and high-pressure situations. Effective communication skills with fluency in English, through both verbal and written. Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented. Ability to interact with various levels of management in a professional manner. First, Second- or Third-Class Medical Certificate. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Other software programs may be required, as needed. Skilled in using classroom equipment as necessary. The unrestricted right to work in the USA. Contingent to employment, all candidates must pass a drug screening and background check, along with TSA badging-if required for your role.
