Job Summary:

Auraria Campus is seeking a dynamic and employee focused People Operations/HR Business Partner (a non-classified position). This position will work closely with the Director of People Operations/HR to provide a proactive and high level of consultation to Auraria’s employees and leadership. Under the direction of the Director, this position will support employee experience initiatives, lead employee relations investigations and grievance processes, assist in assessing compensation structures and pay ranges, and develop learning and development opportunities for supervisors and employees. The People Operations/HR BP will be an important presence of driving positive change, being a coach and consultant to supervisors/employees, developing mechanisms to develop talent, driving operational excellence, aligning work to the organization’s strategic goals, and modeling the organization's values for employees.

Essential Job Functions:

Employee Relations (40%)

Coaches and educates people managers and employees on HR plans, programs, practices, processes, and tools to ensure knowledge transfer related to talent and organization effectiveness.Provides support, guidance and mentorship to employees and management on how to provide feedback, navigate difficult conversations, and mediate conflict.Leads employee investigations and grievance processes with an objective lens and an understanding of confidentiality.

Employee Experience (30%)

Performance Management: Lead the annual performance processes for all employee groups, including, assisting with goal setting that aligns with the organization; providing consultation to supervisors and employees on best practices and ways to improve performance; tracking completion rates, and record management of files.Learning & Development: Assist in creating and delivering employee training plans; roll out new hire and annual compliance training modules; and identify training needs and make recommendations to the Director.HRIS system: Act as the subject matter expert for the HRIS system and leads training and creation of manuals and aids for employees/supervisors; oversight for maintenance of the HRIS system functions.

Compensation (20%)

Assessing pay structure: Researching compensation trends and surveys to compare an organization's pay to others in the industry and region.Calculating compensation: Calculating employee compensation and maintaining compensation databases.Benchmarking compensation: Benchmarking compensation externally.Review compensation/classification change requests, analyze internal and external data.

General (10%)

Recruitment back-up: Be trained in and stay up to date with recruitment practices and processes; act as back-up for recruiting in times of need and/or as assigned; and support the selection and recruitment functions.Data entry: Create/enter data transactions in the Human Capital Management (HCM) system related to personnel management; ensure timeliness and accuracy of data entries.Other duties as assigned and directed.

Salary:The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $70,000 - $78,000/annually.The above salary range (or hiring range) represents Auraria Campus’ good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in human resource management, organizational development, or a similar related field of study relevant to the work identified above, plus at least 3 years of professional full-time work experience in employee relations, people experience, or other transformative human resources areas.

Substitution:

A combination of relevant education and professional full-time work experience, totaling 7 years, in employee relations, people experience initiatives, or similar will be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of the bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with utilizing Human Capital Management technologies.Experience inputting timely and private data/content into an HR data entry system.Experience working with/within HR procedures, rules, regulations, and policies, including the State of Colorado Personnel Board rules and regulations.Experience working with unions.Experience working in a public institution or institution of higher education.Attributes:
