Oversees and supports all aspects of facilities management and facilities operations for the Northwest Animal Facility.Additionally, serves as a backup facilities manager for all buildings within the Division of Biological Sciences. As a result, the position applies all aspects of facilities management and facilities operations for each of these buildings.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and specialized building management responsibilities within the Northwest Animal Facility and, on an as-needed basis, in all other Divisional Buildings.As a representative of the Division, analyze complex situations and facilities considerations to accommodate the Northwest Animal Facility research, making recommendations, and effectively resolving issues.Collaborate with organization occupants to plan space that accommodates non-routine systems and/or research equipment.Proactively develop preventative maintenance plans and equipment replacement/upgrade plans.Coordinate with multiple units across the organization to ensure a safe and secure facilities environment.Develop and manage budgets for building infrastructure.Oversee emergency repairs and respond to emergency communications from building occupants.Collaborate with internal and external agencies/contractors as required.Collaborate with department leadership to develop space planning.Plan and communicate with building occupants for construction projects.Special Projects and CoordinationPerform work on special projects as needed, including the creation and implementation of preventative maintenance plans.Coordinate with building occupants, consultants and Capital Projects.Strategic Planning and Policy DevelopmentCreate guidelines and protocols to promote improved Preventative Maintenance Programming.Analyze gaps in Building Management Operations.Leadership and ManagementStay updated on responsibilities of the Director of Facilities for the Division of Biological Sciences.Provide oversight/supervision of lower level Facilities Managers.Required QualificationsAdvanced knowledge in the area of facilities operational management.Competency in reading/interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced knowledge of lab facilities infrastructure/building systems.Experience with project management.Advanced interpersonal and communication skills.Salary & BenefitsThis is a 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) exempt career position, which is paid monthly and eligible for UC Benefits.The budgeted salary range that the University expects to pay for this position is $98,600.00 - $145,000.00.How to ApplyTo apply, please submit your resume and cover letter.Other InformationThis is not a visa opportunity.Conviction History BackgroundThis is a designated position requiring fingerprinting and a background check.Equal Employment OpportunityThe University of California is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
