Public Works Laborer

REQUIREMENTS: The Public Works Laborer position includes a variety of semi-skilled and skilled level work in the maintenance of trees and public landscapes, repair and maintenance of streets and sewers, maintenance of public property, and minor carpentry and construction tasks. The Public Works Laborer position is also responsible for the collection of refuse and bulk items and for the safe operation of vehicles and equipment used in all tasks. The Public Works Laborer will report to the Arborist, Assistant Public Works Director/Operations, or Refuse and Organics Manager and receives daily work assignments and responsibilities from a Public Works Crew Leader.Position includes Competitive Benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance), 401 Employer Pension Plan, paid vacation, holidays, sick time plus additional benefits to be discussed during the interview process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School education and some previous work experience in a related field. Must obtain Confined Space Certification, Work Zone Traffic Control Training within 12 months and a Class B commercial driver's license (with tanker endorsement and without air brake restriction) within four 4 months of employment. Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
