Traditional Labor Law Associate Attorney

to join their team. This position is primarily focused on traditional labor law representation for employers, with additional responsibilities related to workplace laws in California and federal jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will handle labor disputes, provide legal advice on union-related matters, and offer support on various employment law issues. This role may also include performing due diligence related to employer operations during mergers and acquisitions.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLabor Representation:

Handle unfair labor practice charges before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).Represent management in NLRB elections.Negotiate and advise on collective bargaining agreements.Manage grievance and arbitration proceedings.Secure mass picketing injunctions when necessary.

Employer Counseling:

Provide legal advice to employers on union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check, and neutrality agreements.Offer advice on federal and California wage and hour laws, leave management, and disability accommodations.Counsel employers on workplace issues, including harassment, discrimination, and retaliation matters.

Conduct due diligence reviews related to employer operations, especially in mergers and acquisitions, to identify workplace law issues.Policy and Compliance Review:

Review and update handbooks, policies, and forms for compliance with federal and California state laws.Assess compensation, commission, and bonus plans for legal compliance.

Training:

Conduct management training sessions on labor relations, federal and California workplace laws, and harassment, discrimination, and retaliation prevention.

Research and Writing:

Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and other legal documents related to labor law issues.

Other Duties:

Take on additional responsibilities as reasonably assigned by senior attorneys or management.

RequirementsExperience:

4-6 years of experience as an attorney handling litigation or advice work, with a focus on labor law preferred.Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.Licensing:

Active admission to the California Bar and in good standing.Labor Law Expertise:

Prior experience handling NLRB proceedings, union-related issues, and collective bargaining is highly preferred.Knowledge of Employment Laws:

Familiarity with federal and California employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, leave management, and disability accommodations.Bilingual:

Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.SkillsCommunication:

Excellent written and oral communication skills to present legal issues clearly and effectively to clients and colleagues.Attention to Detail:

Ability to thoroughly review documents and legal issues with high accuracy.Organizational Skills:

Strong ability to manage multiple cases, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.Project Management:

Proven experience in managing complex legal projects, from litigation to advisory roles.Client Relations:
