By leveraging the group IP and influence of these athletes, OneTeam creates value in games and interactive, consumer products, sponsorship, athlete and partner marketing, and content and media.Role SummaryOneTeam Partners is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to expand our games business on behalf of our athletes and Players’ Association partners. The ideal candidate will possess strong strategic instincts, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a passion for sports, games, and emerging technologies, with a background in games licensing, digital business development, or platform relations.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute OneTeam’s strategy for games business development, identifying and pursuing new opportunities on behalf of athletes and partner PAs.Source, negotiate, and close new games partnerships, enhancing OneTeam’s industry-leading games portfolio.Collaborate with the SVP of Games, Interactive & Experiences on major games license renewals.Build and evaluate business models to assess opportunities, keeping up-to-date with market benchmarks and best practices in games licensing.Establish and nurture strong relationships with leading games publishers.Stay updated on industry trends, identifying new opportunities within the global games ecosystem, and effectively communicating OneTeam’s unique value to prospective partners.Partner with OneTeam’s Finance and PA Partnerships teams to guide strategic planning, budgeting, and long-term planning for games-related new business.Work collaboratively with OneTeam’s Legal team to complete licensing agreements and other partnership arrangements.Key Skills And Qualifications8+ years of experience in the sports, entertainment or games industries.Proven ability to source, negotiate, and close high-value commercial deals.Strong knowledge of the games industry, including a strong understanding of market landscape, opportunities/risks for IP owners, and deal benchmarks.A keen interest in the broader digital and technology landscape, with enthusiasm for exploring new opportunities for IP owners.Proactive with an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset and a track record of driving business growth initiatives.A passion for sports and games.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and resilient.CompensationSalary Range: $170,000 - $210,000 + bonus opportunities*OneTeam Partners offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, supplemental benefits, wellness benefits, paid vacation, and a 401k plan. The above compensation reflects the anticipated salary range for this position based on Los Angeles, CA and current national data. Tasks may involve prolonged periods of sitting, as well as frequent use of computers and other office equipment. The position necessitates the capacity to evaluate complex data, develop business strategies, and make high-level decisions, which involves mental focus, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
