Role Overview:

The Associate Director of Origination manages and oversees a team of individuals focused on PPA opportunities for renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and storage. The Associate Director of Origination leads the ongoing effort to close new renewable energy power purchase transactions across North America each year.Main responsibilities:

Lead renewable sales activity with utilities in the Eastern US & Canada.Lead proposal development and competitive solicitation responses in collaboration with internal groups and East Origination team.Develop East Origination team members.Identify new clients & markets for development projects in the Eastern US & Canada.Coordinate with North America Management Team and Origination team to develop and evolve commercial strategy for projects in the Eastern US & Canada.Provide customer and market feedback to internal teams to prioritize project advancement across Eastern US & Canada.Provide commercial support on tax equity, cash equity, and M&A transactions.Identify renewable partnership opportunities to support business plan targets in the Eastern US & Canada.Additional duties as required.Employment type

Minimum Requirements:

7-10 years of work experience in the clean energy industry.Demonstrated sales experience in relevant markets (MISO, PJM and SE experience preferred).Demonstrated expertise negotiating and executing PPA/BTAs with utility offtakers.Proficient knowledge of the Eastern US power markets is a must.Strong organizational, networking, leadership and time management skills.Excellent public speaking, relationship-building, interpersonal skills.Ability to write effective, concise reports.Excellent customer/partner relationships skills.Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sustainability, or other related fields.Travel:

Up to 50%Behavioral Requirements:

Ability to quickly understand a variety of subjects relating to renewable energy.Understanding of renewable project lifecycle, financial models, energy market rules.Strong interpersonal skills and high attention to detail.Strong leadership skills and ability to successfully train, motivate groups outside of origination.Ability to coordinate complex analysis and projects across multiple departments.Demonstrated management skills and experience.Ability to be self-motivated and perform job tasks in a relatively unstructured environment with little supervision.Strong organizational and leadership skills.Strong interest in renewable energy and combating climate change.Ability to travel by plane and by car.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Physical demands & working conditions:
