Our client is a global leader in the renewable energy sector and currently operates in more than 25 markets. Composed of experienced developers and operators of renewable energy, their portfolio includes on/offshore wind, solar, and Battery Storage.
Role Overview:The Director of Origination manages and oversees a highly effective business unit focused on PPA opportunities for renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and storage. The Director of Origination leads the ongoing effort to close new renewable energy power purchase transactions across North America each year.Main Responsibilities:Lead renewable sales activity with utilities in the US market with a focus on Central & East regions.Lead proposal development and competitive solicitation responses in collaboration with the PPA business unit.Recruit, mentor and develop Origination team members.Identify new clients & markets for development projects in the USA.Coordinate with North America Management Team and Origination team to develop and evolve commercial strategy.Provide customer and market feedback to internal teams to prioritize project advancement across Eastern US & Canada.Provide commercial support on tax equity, cash equity, and M&A transactions.Identify renewable partnership opportunities to support business plan targets in the Eastern US & Canada.Additional duties as required.Employment Type:Full time
Work Site:Hybrid Work ModelWhat Are We Looking For:Minimum Requirements:7-10 years of work experience in the clean energy industry.Demonstrated sales experience in relevant markets (MISO, PJM and SE experience preferred).Demonstrated expertise negotiating and executing PPA/BTAs with utility offtakers.Proficient knowledge of the Eastern US power markets is a must.Excellent public speaking, relationship-building, interpersonal skills.Excellent customer/partner relationship skills.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sustainability, or other related fields.
