Successful members of our team are motivated to exceed annual comp sales, thrive in a collaborative environment, and have an entrepreneurial spirit.About the Role:As an Associate Buyer on the Deli team, you will work alongside a buyer to develop your buying and negotiating skills. Your focus will be on assisting the buyer with their categories and key accounts, as well as managing your own categories. The Associate Buyer will report to a Buyer on the Deli Team.Responsibilities Include:Support Buyers on day-to-day functions of the departmentDevelop new relationships and foster existing ones to drive success in your categoriesManage multiple classes and sub-classesMonitor purchase orders and manage weekly receipt flow into distribution centersEnsure fulfillment accuracy of receiptsCollaborate with inventory planning to support buyer forecasting and importsSell Grocery Outlet to vendors and maintain supplier relationshipsIdentify category opportunities based on trends to exceed sales and margin plansAnalyze key metrics by category and SKUNegotiate costs to maximize customer value and marginEnsure thorough communication with vendors and internal partnersMaintain a reputation of credibility and responsivenessWrite articles for store managers and operators on organic trends and merchandisingAbout The Pay:Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 AnnuallyAnnual Bonus ProgramEquity401(k) Profit SharingMedical, Dental, Vision & More!Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary by location.About You:Degree and 2+ years of purchasing experience or 4 to 6 years of purchasing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience negotiating cost and terms with suppliersAbility to prioritize, multitask, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and negotiation skillsProven team player, self-motivated, independent thinkerHighly analytical and resourcefulProficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, and OutlookTravel 10% of the time
