Senior I.T. Capacity Planner, San Francisco, CA

Job Description - ResponsibilitiesThe Senior I.T. Capacity Planner will be responsible for leading the delivery of capacity planning analysis and reports for distributed systems for a variety of accounts. They must be able to communicate well in English, in both written and spoken formats in order to explain their recommendations. The candidate must be team-oriented as they will be working with associates and customers located throughout the world. They must have strong analytical and technical skills demonstrated by the ability to understand performance and capacity planning for distributed systems. They must have experience with various performance and capacity planning tools. The candidate will need to be capable of analyzing and documenting customer environments as well as making reasonable recommendations. The person must be capable of working on their own, taking their own initiative to deal with performance and capacity problems and to recommend the proper approach to solving them.The Successful Candidate must meet the following requirements:5+ years’ experience capacity planning for distributed systems including the ability to draw conclusions from vast amounts of disparate data such as systems metrics and business information.Experience administering and using performance tools such as BMC Performance Assurance, TeamQuest, HP OpenView, etc.Must have strong English speaking and writing skills.Strong presentation skills to a varied audience – both technical and non-technical.Proficiency in presentation tools such as MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.Advanced experience with UNIX and Windows capacity planning techniques.Familiar with various methods of capacity planning including trending, analytical modeling, and reporting approaches.The individual should be a self-starter and capable of working under minimal supervision & direction.A strong customer satisfaction driven attitude coupled with the ability to recognize and satisfy customer requirements is essential.Willingness to learn new tools and develop new skills are required.Knowledge of ITIL Standards and operating procedures would be a plus.SAS and/or Business Objects experience would be a plus.Familiarity with additional Monitoring tools such as IBM Tivoli, NetIQ AppManager, CA Unicenter & HP OpenView, etc. would be a plus but is not required.How to ApplyFor immediate consideration please send us your cover letter and resume in either .pdf or .doc format to the following email address: jobs@xoverit.com.
